The Elected Officials Deputy represents the offices of four elected officials:
County Treasurer, County Clerk, Register of Deeds, and Clerk of Courts.
The individual who holds this position must have a significant knowledge base of all four departments, providing services and functions for the main offices in the satellite location while managing and operating the office.

98 per hour Work Location This position is based at the Kenosha County Center (KCC) located at the intersection of Highways 45 and 50 in Bristol, Wisconsin.
Work Schedule 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:
00 AM to 5:
00 PM Position Summary and Job Duties Manages daily operations of the Elected Officials Office; includes running reports to verify financial reports and updating Ensures all interdepartmental mail is logged and tracked before sending with courier Provides daily reports for each department for back-up and balancing, with three separate bank deposits Performs duties of Deputy Treasurer:
Receipting tax payments, receipting municipal payments, end of day balancing, explaining property tax laws to the public, assisting with Tax Deed and IN Rem processes, assisting with Lottery Credit auditing and mailings Ensures proper allocation to base tax amount, interest, and penalties from tax payments Performs duties as Deputy Register of Deeds:
Accepts legal documents for recording, including deeds and mortgages from the public, attorneys, and other County offices Proofreads and verifies that documents conform to state statutes and regulations Prepares daily and monthly reports for Register of Deeds satellite office Issues Vital Records including birth, marriage, divorce, and death certificates Tracks all certificates issued at KCC for accountability of numbered transactions Assists public with access to search property information and recorded documents kept for public record Balances four separate money drawers daily Works with seven different receipting systems Accepts/receipts tax payments for County and verifies accuracy of tax payment distribution Works with public inquiries as to property ownership, tax history, assessments, etc.
Performs duties as Deputy County Clerk:
Acts as notary public and issues marriage licenses, dog licenses, and keeps a log and report Calculates ration of dog license funds to be returned yearly to each municipality Assists applicants seeking to apply for a marriage license Assists in the delivery and receipt of election and tax related materials to and from various municipalities Performs duties as Deputy Clerk of Courts:
Assigns court dates, opens case files, and accepts legal documents from attorneys and public for filing; maintains court case records Provides pending and post judgement information Calculates fines/fees to collection agency, interest due, and monies due to the court Accepts department deposits for Highways, Parks & Golf, and UW Extension Keeps up to date on all forms, policies, and procedures Maintains the Kenosha County Center building calendar Assists the public entering the building with finding the correct office/information Performs other duties as required or assigned Success Factors Knowledge of State CCAP system bonus Knowledge of Wisconsin State Statutes Knowledge of real estate and legal descriptions Knowledge of purpose and information that should be contained in legal documents Office managerial, secretarial, and equipment skills Skill in math, computers, and accounting Ability to work well with the public Ability to remain well organized and multi-task Ability to communicate well over the phone or in person Ability to obtain and hold an authority as a notary public Ability to proofread with accuracy Ability to remain professional and courteous at all times Ability to maintain confidential information Ability to promote inclusivity and effectively engage with a diverse workforce and consumer base Job Requirements, Education, Training and Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent Two years of office experience Or any combination of training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the job Preferred Education, Experience and Certification Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Secretarial Science, Business Management, or Office Management Experience working in a municipal setting Three-five years of office experience with two years of office management Licenses/Certifications Necessary certifications can be achieved through the job:
Achieve and maintain certification as a Passport Acceptance Agent Achieve and maintain State of Wisconsin Notary Public commission.
